Fred Stooshinoff, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2023, in Burnaby, BC. He was born on January 20, 1955, in Grand Forks, BC, to Nick Stooshinoff and Pauline Dergousoff. In 1975, Fred met his beloved wife, Darlene, in Balfour, BC, and after a long courtship, they finally tied the knot on July 31, 2016. Together, they raised three wonderful daughters.

Throughout his life, Fred had a deep passion for the outdoors and sports. In his youth, he actively participated in baseball and hockey, and in adulthood, he dedicated his time to coaching various ball and hockey teams. He found solace in activities like hunting, fishing, and curling. Fred’s love for sports continued until his final moments, as he faithfully watched his favorite football, baseball, and hockey teams.

More than anything, Fred found pure joy in spending quality time with his family. He cherished family gatherings and was always the first to invite everyone over for barbeques or dinners. His love for his family was evident in the warm, heartfelt hugs he gave to everyone at the end of each visit. Fred was known for his kindness, generosity, and welcoming nature. He never hesitated to offer his friends a cold beer, a delicious meal, and a comfortable chair.

Fred deeply mourned the loss of his mother, Pauline, father, Nick, and brother, Ray, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene, daughters Stacey, Vicky, and Kelly, sisters Gail and Tammie, brother Edward, as well as his grandchildren Destiny-llyn, Dustin, and Braeden, and great-grandchildren Jaxson, Lily, and Avery. Although Fred may no longer be physically present, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his friends and family, who will continue to honor him through shared memories, smiles, and laughter.
