George Brayshaw passed away suddenly at the age of 89 on Friday, October 27, 2023. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. George was predeceased by his wife, Lois Brayshaw. He will be greatly missed by his children, Gary, Linda, Shelly, Ken Ramey, Dennis, and Patti. George was known as “Poppa” to his grandchildren Jennifer, Mike, Megan, Matt, Sherisse, Natalie, Matt, Nicole, Rob, Chantal, Cole, Casey, Chris, Brody, Alicia, and Dylen. He was also a loving “Little Poppa” to Bryce, Kash, Kane, Trey, Logan, Brett, Fisher, Hunter, Emerson, Maverick, and soon-to-be baby girl Scottie. His surviving siblings include his sister, Lois Youmans, and brother, Bill Brayshaw, both residing in BC. Additionally, George is survived by his sisters-in-law Theresa Brayshaw, Marg Barrowcliffe, Ruth Barrowcliffe, and brother-in-law Ric Barrowcliffe and his wife Sharon. George had a passion for sports and would often be found at ballparks or hockey arenas, passionately watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play. Cremation has already taken place, and a service of remembrance will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Hill & Robinson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. In memory of George, the family kindly requests donations to the Arnold Anderson Sport Fund or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

George held a special place in the hearts of his grandchildren Jennifer, Mike, Megan, Matt, Sherisse, Natalie, Matt, Nicole, Rob, Chantal, Cole, Casey, Chris, Brody, Alicia, and Dylen, who lovingly referred to him as “Poppa”. Additionally, George cherished his role as “Little Poppa” to Bryce, Kash, Kane, Trey, Logan, Brett, Fisher, Hunter, Emerson, Maverick, and soon-to-be baby girl Scottie. His beloved siblings Lois Youmans and Bill Brayshaw, as well as his sisters-in-law Theresa Brayshaw, Marg Barrowcliffe, and Ruth Barrowcliffe, and brother-in-law Ric Barrowcliffe and his wife Sharon, survive him. George had an unwavering passion for sports, and his presence could often be found in ballparks and hockey arenas, where he enthusiastically supported his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The fond memories of George will forever reside in the hearts of his loved ones. Cremation has already taken place, and a service of remembrance will be held in the chapel of the Hill & Robinson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, November 3, 2023. His sister, Lois Youmans, and brother, Bill Brayshaw, both residents of British Columbia, survive George, along with his sisters-in-law Theresa Brayshaw, Marg Barrowcliffe, Ruth Barrowcliffe, and brother-in-law Ric Barrowcliffe and his wife Sharon. An avid sports enthusiast, George found delight in spending his time at ballparks and hockey arenas, unwavering in his support for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. The memories of George’s enthusiastic presence will forever hold a special place in their hearts. George’s cremation has taken place, and a service of remembrance will be held at the Hill & Robinson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, November 3, 2023.
