George Michael Pihulak, a resident of Gonor and Selkirk, Manitoba, peacefully passed away in his sleep on October 2nd, 2023, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew him. He is mourned by his beloved daughters Dana (Dallas) and Jaime, his son Shane, and his adored grandchildren Tatym, Brody, Isabella, and Lauren. Additionally, his devoted nieces Janice and Cheryl, as well as numerous friends, grieve his loss. His memory is tempered by the predeceased ones, including his mother Helen, father Michael Pihulak, sister Elizabeth, and her husband Paul Hunter.
During his youthful years, George Michael Pihulak dedicated his time to working on cars, engaging in wild game hunting, and fishing. As a skilled steelworker and power engineer, he possessed a meticulous eye for detail and prided himself in constructing enduring structures. Consequently, in his later years, he acquired his childhood property in Lockport after his father’s passing. There, he built his own house and ventured into gardening, following in his father’s footsteps. Although not as successful as his father, he derived joy from the experience. He cherished many years on the Lockport property until declining health issues arose. Throughout his later years, George Michael Pihulak was embraced by the presence of cherished friends and family members.
Following his expressed desires, cremation has already been carried out, with no scheduled viewing or service. A private interment will take place at a later date, adhering to his wishes. While George Michael Pihulak’s presence will be deeply missed, his memory will forever endure in the hearts of those who loved him.
