George SACKANEY

George Sackaney, born on October 10, 1956, passed away suddenly on October 29, 2023, at the age of 67. He was the son of Louise and Frederick Sackaney. George is survived by his beloved wife Betty Sackaney (nee Singer), and his children Chris (Ginger) Sackaney, Adam Sackaney, and Fred Sackaney. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his daughter Bonnie Sackaney and son-in-law Jim Deluce. George was also a cherished grandfather to Skyler Sackaney (Chloey Frank), Raven Babcock, Amy Sackaney, and Keith Sackaney (Emily Roycroft).

George was the brother of Gilbert Sackaney, Maurice Sackaney, Christopher Polson, Doris Sackaney, Roy (Marilyn) Sackaney, Debora Lilly Sackaney, and the late Helen Sackaney, Leonard Sackaney, John Sackaney, Sam Sackaney, and Joseph Sackaney. He will be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A wake will be held at the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation (Wahgoshig First Nation), 140 Concession Road, starting on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 10 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023, followed by the Funeral Procession to the Burial Site of the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation Cemetery.
