Georgia Kyriakopoulos

Georgia Kyriakopoulos, our cherished mother, departed this world on October 29, 2023, leaving behind a legacy filled with love and light. As the cornerstone of our family, she brought unwavering love, compassion, and wisdom into our lives. During our darkest times, she provided solace and guidance, illuminating our paths through life’s storms. Her love knew no bounds, her support was boundless, and her embrace was the safest refuge. As children, we were blessed to call her our mother. She not only taught us the value of kindness, the beauty of selflessness, and the strength of unity, but also became our best friend, confidante, and the source of endless warmth. She nurtured our dreams, wiped away our tears, and celebrated our triumphs with unwavering pride. Her love will forever shine brightly in our hearts.

Preceded in death by her husband Nicolaos (Nick) in 1996, Georgia is survived by her daughter Maria Kalantzis (Peter) and Chris Kyriakopoulos (Leesa). She was also the proud grandmother of Dino, Nick, George, Nicole Gooding (Joshua), Olivia, Victoria, Vasilis, and great-grandmother of Leo. Georgia was preceded in death by her brothers Sotiris, Vasilis, Georgios, and Thanassis Alevizos. She is also remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

Born in Thana, Greece, Georgia immigrated to Niagara Falls, Canada in December 1960, where she met her future husband Nicolaos. Our family was raised in Tillsonburg, Ontario, where Georgia worked side by side with our father in the various entrepreneurial ventures they embarked on, specializing in foodservice. Tillsonburg became our home for 60 years, even after our father’s passing. Mom was an independent, proud woman, whose accomplishments were limitless. She received the Ontario Volunteer Services Award in 1999 and dedicated herself to supporting the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church/Philoptochos and the community.

Even though her physical presence may be absent, Georgia’s spirit lives on as a guiding star in our darkest nights. We will forever cherish the memories we created together and honor her by living out the values she instilled in us. Mom, you will never be forgotten.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in London, Ontario. Interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery in London, Ontario. Memorial donations can be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in memory of Georgia. Online condolences can be expressed at http://www.loganfh.ca. Arrangements entrusted to Logan Funeral Home.

As a living memorial to Georgia Kyriakopoulos, the Logan Funeral Home will plant a tree.
