Georgiena KERR

Georgiena Mae Kerr, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on October 23, 2023, in Woodstock, Ontario at the age of 86. Born on March 22, 1937, Georgiena lived a vibrant life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered through her kindness and warmth.

Georgiena was deeply devoted to her husband, Bill, whom she married on September 8, 1956. Their remarkable love story spanned over six decades, filled with shared dreams, laughter, and an unbreakable bond. Together, they raised four exceptional children, Brian (Beverley), Nanette (Scott) Henderson, and Michael (Lee Ann). In 2015, Georgiena experienced the heartache of losing her son Scott, but his memory remained close to her heart.

As a proud grandmother, Georgiena doted on her grandchildren—Jeffery, Adam, Madison, Samantha, Sarah, Logan, and Keela. She cherished every single moment spent with them, and her love for them knew no bounds. She also left behind her dear cousins Rick, Bonnie, Jane, and Bill, who will deeply miss her presence.

Georgiena was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She tirelessly worked in the farming industry for many years, exemplifying these traits in everything she did. In addition, she made a significant impact on the lives of young individuals in her community as an Akela Leader of Cubs and Scouts. Her leadership and commitment to service were truly remarkable.

Beyond her professional and community involvement, Georgiena had an extraordinary zest for life. She thoroughly enjoyed organizing and attending various fundraising events, banquets, and catering. Her ability to bring people together created countless joyous occasions filled with laughter, delectable food, and wonderful company. Moreover, during the winter months, Georgiena and Bill would escape to Arizona, immersing themselves in the warmth of the sun and friendships during potluck suppers with their dear friends.

In memory of Georgiena Mae Kerr, donations to VON-Sakura House would be greatly appreciated. A memorial visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 12-2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. held at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Thamesford Chapel (177 Dundas St.). Interment will be held at Zion Cemetery. Share cherished memories at http://www.brockandvisser.com.
