Gerald Terrance Marshall (Jerry)

Jerry Marshall, aged 76, passed away peacefully at LHSC – Victoria Hospital on September 14, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Dykes) Marshall for over 53 years and the proud father of Kathy and Scott Roth of Coldstream, as well as Jeff and Angela Marshall of Prospect Hill. Jerry was an adored grandpa to Helena and Lachlan Roth, and Siera (Jared), Abigail, Aubrey, and Jackson Marshall. He was also a dear brother-in-law to Valerie (Dykes) and Cliff Thomson and family, and Ron Dykes and family. Jerry leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Dorothy (Craney) Marshall, and his brother John Marshall (Betty).

During his remarkable 31 years serving the London Police Service, Jerry emerged as a community leader, ultimately attaining the rank of Inspector. He was renowned for his larger-than-life personality, firm handshake, and genuine interest in people. Moreover, Jerry paved his own path as an entrepreneur, establishing a prosperous tent rental business. He mentored many individuals, acted as a hero in times of need, and consistently displayed unwavering honesty and integrity. His unwavering determination to succeed mirrored his love and dedication to his family, the cornerstone of his life.

Visitation will take place at St. Marys Presbyterian Church, located at 147 Widder Street East, St. Marys, on October 14th, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Following the visitation, Jerry’s memorial service will commence at 12 noon. A reception will follow the service at the Pyramid Recreation Centre, situated at 317 James Street South, St. Marys, providing an opportunity to share cherished stories with the family. Jerry’s ashes will be laid to rest at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
