Glenn Peter Whalen, a retiree of Bell Canada, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the age of 72. Born in Montreal, Quebec, on February 12, 1951, Glenn dedicated over 30 years of his life as a Cable Locate technician. He is survived by his beloved wife Diane-Claire and his cherished children Adam and Kortney. He was a proud grandfather to Riley, Eason, Carter, Allison, and Whalen. Glenn was predeceased by his parents, Paul P. Whalen and Allison Galarneau, as well as his brother, Paul George. He will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and great neighbors, particularly Len. In addition, he held the honorary title of grandfather to Jeramy and Jason.

Glenn had a passion for sports, travel, and reading. He enjoyed spending time in the Laurentians and in Florida, engaging in meaningful conversations with people. Glenn had an extensive knowledge of current affairs, politics, and military history. His wealth of knowledge made him an irreplaceable presence in the lives of those who knew him. Rest in peace, our wonderful man.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Glenn’s Palliative Care Team, the PSWs, Dr. Camila Matamoros, and Dr. Sivapathasuntharam for their exceptional care during Glenn’s illness.

Visitation for Glenn will take place at the Ogden Funeral Home in Toronto, Ontario, located at 4164 Sheppard Ave. E. on Thursday, August 24, from 5-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 25, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church in Scarborough, located at 2234 Ellesmere Road. Glenn’s burial will take place in Montreal, Quebec, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Lung Association or a charity of personal choice.
