Glenys Margaret Jane Cutler (née Thomas)

In loving memory, we honor the life of Glenys Cutler, who unexpected passed away at Health Sciences North. Glenys is survived by her devoted husband, Ivan, and their children Janice, Gwen (Gary), and David (Sonia). She was a cherished grandmother to Chris and Kyle, and a beloved great-grandmother to Landon and Claire, all residing in Calgary. Glenys will always be remembered fondly by her extended family on both coasts.

Glenys pursued her passion for nursing upon graduating from St. Mike’s Nursing College in Toronto in 1953. She dedicated many years of her life to caring for others at Memorial Hospital, demonstrating a deep and unwavering commitment to her vocation. After retiring from nursing, Glenys took on the role of Director of Volunteer Services, continuing to contribute to the well-being of her community. She also actively participated in the parent council at the Jarrett Center, displaying her dedication to the education and growth of young minds. Glenys was a woman of deep faith, attending the Church of the Ascension and engaging in various parish activities. Additionally, she was an active member of the Girl Guides organization. Outside of her many commitments, Glenys enjoyed reading extensively and indulging in her passion for knitting.

A memorial service to honor Glenys will be held on Monday, October 30th, 2023, at 11am in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, situated at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home on 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Friends and acquaintances are welcome to gather in the chapel after 10:30am on Monday. Following the service, a reception will be held in the Fellowship Room. Glenys will be cremated, with her remains being laid to rest in the family plot at Park Lawn Cemetery. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Maison McCulloch Hospice or the Church of the Ascension in Glenys’ memory.
