Gregory George Robert Pike

It is with deep sorrow that we announce our dear Greg passed away suddenly on January 18th in Calgary. Born in Calgary, Greg was the loving son of Ellen Bradwell and Clint Pike and the beloved big brother to Melissa. His first steps were taken early on Australian soil during the World Expo in 1988 in Brisbane, demonstrating his adventurous spirit from the get go. He then spent his growing up years in Calgary and Montreal before receiving his BA from Mount Allison University in English and Philosophy. After he graduated, his work ventures took him across Canada. He was an insatiable learner and simply the kindest soul.
There was much Greg loved while here with us, including his family and friends, playing his clarinet, guitar, and saxophone for endless hours, his books and writing, Christmas time, and enjoying a great cup of coffee. He also loved skating on a frozen pond, playing hockey, hiking in the Rockies, walks on the beach, and the freedom of the road. Greg revelled in sharing his love of humour and witty observations. Greg had many talents from music, to poetry, to math, and to filling a room with laughter. How we will miss always this about him.
Greg is survived by his parents Ellen (Bruce) and Clint, his sister Melissa (Matt), step-siblings Robert, Amanda, and Nicole, his grandmother Thelma, cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins. We cannot forget his two cross-country feline pals, Timmy and Cricket. He was pre-deceased by his grandparents, Jean and George Bradwell and Gilmore Pike, his Aunt Lori, his infant Aunt Jane, and his cousin Patrick.
We are all so heartbroken that Greg has left this world much too soon. We will carry his big heart and smile for always. Rest well Gregs. We love you.

Cremation has taken place and a private gathering will be held in his honour at a later date. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
