Harold Boone

Harold Robert Boone, 66, formerly of Fredericton, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023, at Wynn Park Villa in Truro. Harold was born in Toronto to Raymond and Alice Boone. He was known for his unwavering commitment to his work, his family, and his faith. In 1985, Harold attended the Maritime Forest Ranger School and later joined the City of Fredericton as the Trail and Project Coordinator in the Parks and Trees Division. He was passionate about developing and nurturing trail systems from their inception, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him.

Despite facing the challenges of Parkinson’s disease, Harold remained steadfast in his trust in God. He was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church and exemplified his faith through genuine care and interest in others. Harold built meaningful friendships and shared the peace he had found throughout his life. He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Rowena, who provided constant love and support. Harold also leaves behind his son, Andrew Boone (Sara), his daughter, Joanna Richard (Alexandre), and his beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Zachary, Samuel Boone, Charlotte, and James Richard. His memory will be cherished by his brothers, Bill Boone (Teri), Byron Boone (Cathy), his sisters, Pat Chute (David), Kathy Barnet (Ross), chosen brother, Wayne Mayo (Val), aunt Joyce Leary, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family extends their sincerest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Wynn Park Villa for their exceptional care. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home in Truro on July 14, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel in Fredericton on July 17, 2023, at 1 p.m., officiated by Pastor Chris Price. The Funeral Service can be viewed via live stream on the website http://www.yorkfh.com. Following the service, a reception will be held at the funeral home, and interment will take place at the Marysville United Baptist Church Cemetery Extension.
