Helen Borutski, a former resident of Elk Point, peacefully passed away in Edmonton on July 24, 2023, at the remarkable age of 101 years. She is survived by her devoted son, David (Diane Hinves), and her beloved grandson, Zachary (Jada Bruer). Helen also leaves behind her siblings, Roy (Beverly) Maksymec, John Maksymec, and Mary Olinyk. Sadly, Helen was predeceased by her spouse, Fred, as well as her parents, Fred and Anne Maksymec, and her siblings, Bill, Mike, and Steve Maksymec, along with Lillian Palinka. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 5, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Elk Point, with the honorable presence of Rt. Rev. Protopresbyter John Lipinski, who will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
