It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the sudden passing of Helen Ciuciura on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Helen’s beloved husband, Jim (Nov 4, 2022), who shared 47 beautiful years of marriage with her, preceded her in death. She will forever be remembered by her loving sisters Kathleen Moeller and Margaret West, both residing in British Columbia. Additionally, she leaves behind her cherished nephew Ian Schipper and great nephew Elio Schipper, both residing in Wellington, New Zealand. Helen took solace in the companionship of her dear cat, ‘Smudge’, who has already found a loving home with a close friend.

Helen’s life was filled with various pursuits and accomplishments. Prior to her retirement, she served as a dedicated teacher at the GECDSB. In addition to her teaching career, Helen was a talented pianist and had a passion for writing. She even published a captivating murder mystery. An ardent supporter of her husband Jim’s music career and retirement activities, Helen’s enthusiasm and positivity were unwavering. Following Jim’s high school productions, she often hosted elaborate show parties that brought joy to all who attended. Helen’s devotion to her family was unwavering, and she had the good fortune of having many loyal friends throughout her life. The family expresses deep gratitude to their close friends, Heather, John, Leo, and Sydney, for their incredible support and care.

A reception to honor Helen’s life will take place at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E) on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 1pm to 3pm.
