Howard SAHLI

Howard Melvin Sahli, born on February 13, 1933, peacefully passed away on August 13, 2023, at the age of 90 in the comforting presence of his family at the Parkridge Centre in Saskatoon. Howard was a devoted family man, born to Jens and Thora Sahli on the family farm near Swanson, SK. He married his beloved wife Ida in 1955, and together they raised three children. After a fulfilling career at SaskPower, Howard retired at the age of 60.

A skilled and resourceful individual, Howard had a knack for fixing almost anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He derived great joy from spending time tinkering in his garage and passing on his skills to others. Howard cherished his role as a father and adored his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, granddogs, and grandcats. He loved playing Kaiser, indulging in a smoke while sitting outside, and engaging in heartfelt conversations with friends and family. Additionally, Howard was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus at St. Anne’s Parish.

Howard will be deeply missed by his son Jerry (Marilyn) Sahli, daughters Audrey Rudyck and Carol (Marty) Lewis, as well as his grandchildren Krystin Riviere, Alyssa Rudyck (Matt Downing), Amanda Lewis (Matt Schmidt), and Leighton Rudyck. His great-grandchildren Chase and Keelie Riviere, Callum Schmidt, and Aries Rudyck brought him immense joy. Howard is also survived by his brother-in-law Eugene Schreiner, brother-in-law Allan (Barb) Schreiner, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Ida, parents Jens and Thora Sahli, siblings Melvin Sahli, Annie Lees (Harold), John Sahli (Betty), and Vernon Sahli, and other relatives.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the friends and family who visited Howard during his time at Parkridge Centre, as well as the dedicated staff and friends who provided exceptional care for him. Howard cherished his time at Parkridge, and their sadness upon his departure was truly heartwarming. His absence will be deeply felt by his loved ones, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
