Ian Scott Turnbull, aged 58, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in South Bruce Peninsula. He was born on March 5, 1965, in Exeter, Ontario, to Lois Ellen Turnbull and Leslie Carl Turnbull. After graduating from South Huron District High School in 1984, Ian pursued his studies at Ontario Bible College. With a passion for serving others, he dedicated 35 years of his life to the London Fire Department, eventually retiring as a district chief.

In 1990, Ian married Lori Lizmore and together they made their home in London. As a couple, they cherished the opportunity to homeschool their children, Ian, Liam, and Erin, until high school. They also encouraged their children’s involvement in team sports, imparting the values of spirituality, independence, hard work, and physical fitness. Along the way, they welcomed a daughter-in-law named Amanda into their loving family.

In 2022, Ian and Lori decided to move to Boat Lake on South Bruce Peninsula, where they relished the beauty of nature and generously served their community through their volunteer work at the Salvation Army. Ian bid farewell to his role as district chief in June 2023, marking the end of a fulfilling career. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lori, their children Ian, Liam, and Erin, daughter-in-law Amanda, as well as his parents Carl and Lois, and siblings Jan (Doug) Easton, Yvonne (Neil) Ostrander, and David (Nadine) Turnbull.
