Jacqueline BACKMAN

Jacqueline Denise Backman (nee Bennett), beloved wife, mother, and sister, passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2023, at the age of 53. Born on September 28, 1969, in Regina, SK, Jacqueline was a free-spirited and generous soul who touched the lives of many. She married Paul Backman in Powell River, BC, in 1998, and together they raised three children who were the pride and joy of their lives. Jacqueline is survived by her mother, Virginia Bennett; her husband, Paul Backman; her children and grandchildren, Kyleigh Matiachuk (Walker and Fischer), Austin Backman, Kassidy Eagle-Pyett (Khaylia and Joseph); her sisters, Audra Wagner and Donna Varga; and her brother, Trevor Bennett. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Jacqueline will forever be remembered for her sociable nature and her unwavering willingness to help others. She had a heart full of love and compassion, always ready to give selflessly, even when faced with challenges. Her kindness knew no bounds, as she would literally give someone the shirt off her back if it meant making a difference in their lives. Her beautiful heart was a source of inspiration to all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her. Jacqueline’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A memorial service will be held on July 22, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home (338 4th Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK.).
