James “Carman” Bennett

Carman Bennett, a resident of Calgary, AB, passed away on August 1, 2023, at the age of 74. He was born on December 29, 1948, in Saskatoon, and had a nomadic childhood, moving across Canada and Europe. Eventually, Carman settled in Cold Lake, AB, where he completed his high school education and encountered Sherry Sutherland. After obtaining a degree in Architecture from MacGill University, Carman and Sherry briefly resided in Montreal before returning to Calgary, where they established their permanent home.

In addition to his professional achievements, Carman actively participated in the Crowchild/Silver Springs Old Timers hockey team as an amateur player. Furthermore, he dedicated numerous years of his life to the Rideau/Roxborough neighborhood committee. Carman leaves behind his son Connol, daughter-in-law Lisa, and cherished grandson Kieran, all residing in Calgary. Sadly, Carman was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sherry, as well as his parents, Bill and Hilda.
