James Francis Collins, known to friends and family as “Jim,” peacefully passed away at the age of 82 on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Hanover and District Hospital in Hanover. He was born on January 26, 1941, in Hanover to the late Francis and Ruby Collins. Jim dedicated his career to Desco, where he worked as a sales and counter associate. He was an active member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Hanover. Jim’s unwavering love for his wife, Beth, was evident as they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Their love remained as strong as the day they took their vows.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth “Beth,” and his beloved twins, Scot Collins and Susan Casler. Scot resides in Stoney Creek with his wife Sandra, while Susan and her husband Tim live in Princeton. Jim was a cherished grandfather to Tyler, and he will be fondly remembered by his sister Jean Schlorff, brother-in-law Bob Schlorff, and his nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Jim’s wishes, his body was cremated, and his ashes will be interred at a later date in Hanover Cemetery. The family kindly requests that any expressions of sympathy be made in the form of memorial donations to the Parkinson Society or the Canadian Cancer Society. The arrangements for his farewell have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Mighton Funeral Home in Hanover.
