James MCGREGOR

James Benjamin McGregor, a cherished Father, Husband, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on August 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Jim’s remarkable 93 years were a testament to his unyielding resilience and unwavering determination to embrace every aspect of life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret, with whom he shared 70 beautiful years. Left to mourn his loss are his children Jim McGregor (Harriet), Kevin McGregor, Maureen Kewley (Bill), Kathryn McGregor (David), and Emmett McGregor (Anita). Jim also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren Jennifer, Erin, Connor, Ben, Jenn, and Lynette, as well as his great-grandchildren Olivia, Myles, Jo, Andrew, Wyatt, Cyrus, and the newest addition, Baby Bronco (Logan).

In addition to being a loyal friend, Jim was a visionary dreamer, an enterprising entrepreneur, and a profound thinker. His passion for nature, his expertise in designing and constructing various things, and above all, his insatiable thirst for knowledge showcased his multifaceted personality. Even well into his mid-seventies, Jim remained actively engaged in his work until he shifted his focus to caring for his ailing wife, Margaret, during her final years.

Jim’s absence leaves an indescribable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. His profound impact will be deeply felt and forever cherished.

A funeral mass honoring James McGregor’s life will take place at Saint Theresa’s Catholic church in Ma-Me-O Beach, Alberta, on September 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. Following the service, both Jim and Margaret will be laid to rest at Lakedell Cemetery.
