James Monaghan (Jim)

Jim Monaghan, a much-loved father, grandfather, and friend, was born on June 9, 1944, in Vermilion, Alberta. Sadly, we announce his peaceful passing on September 29, 2023, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital.

Jim is survived by his dedicated friend, Debbie Kells, who shared countless memorable moments and adventures with him throughout the years, along with her sons Sean and Tyler.

He is also survived by his adoring daughter, Ashlee (Mac) Geddes, two sons, Justin (Shaina) Kobeluck, Vincent (Mary) Monaghan, sister Margaret (Paul) Polichuk, treasured grandchildren, Jackson, Owen, Emmett, Jayden, Logan, and many other beloved friends, nieces, and nephews.

Jim’s parents, Francis and Rose Monaghan, who immigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1926, as well as his brothers John, Jerry, Francis, Charlie, Eugene, and sisters Jean, Mary, and Kay, precede him in death.

Beyond his family, Jim’s compassion extended to his two cherished cats, Sally and Bella, who were always by his side providing comfort.

There will be a funeral service held at a later date to celebrate Jim’s life. In the meantime, we hold onto the memories of his warm smile, his gentle laughter, and the love he shared with everyone who had the honor of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
