Janet Parliament, formerly known as Janet Anderson, peacefully passed away on September 28, 2023, at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock. She was 87 years old and had resided in Woodstock after previously living in Port Rowan. Janet was married to Peter Parliament on June 15, 1957, and was the loving mother of Paul (deceased in 2021), Marc and his wife Linda of Victoria, BC, and David and his wife Sam of Woodstock. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Prairie, Patrick, Christina, Hailey, Ben, Christopher, and Leenah. Janet is also survived by her brothers-in-law Gerry Wilhelm of Tillsonburg, and Ken Bloomfield of Woodstock, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Cornelia Anderson, her brother Tom Anderson, her sisters Marget Parker, Marion Wilhelm, Betty Sagi, and Carol Lynn Bloomfield.

Janet dedicated 37 years to teaching with the Oxford County Catholic School Board before retiring. Following retirement, she and Peter owned and operated a Bed and Breakfast in Port Rowan for 12 years.

A Memorial service for Janet will be held at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home in Port Rowan on October 20, 2023. Visitation will take place from 12-1:15 p.m., followed by the service in the Clark Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Her final resting place will be in Bayview Cemetery, Port Rowan. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian National Autism Foundation.
