Janet Parliament (nee Anderson), aged 87, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2023 at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock. Formerly of Port Rowan, Janet was the beloved wife of Peter Parliament, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage since June 15, 1957. She was a loving mother to the late Paul (2021), Marc and his wife Linda of Victoria, BC, and David and his wife Sam of Woodstock. Janet will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Prairie, Patrick and Christina, Hailey and Ben, and Christopher and Leenah. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Gerry Wilhelm of Tillsonburg and Ken Bloomfield of Woodstock, as well as many nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Cornelia Anderson, her brother Tom and Jean Anderson, and her sisters Marget and Jack Parker, Marion Wilhelm, Betty and Les Sagi, and Carol Lynn Bloomfield.

Janet dedicated 37 years of her life to teaching with the Oxford County Catholic School Board before retiring. In 1994, she and Peter retired to Port Rowan, where they ran a successful Bed and Breakfast for 12 years.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Jeffrey W. Glendinning Funeral Home on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 12-1:15 p.m., followed by a memorial service in the Clark Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Janet will be laid to rest in Bayview Cemetery, Port Rowan. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian National Autism Foundation. Condolences can be posted on http://www.gffh.ca.
