Jo, beloved husband, father, and friend, was unexpectedly taken from us after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Doda Andersson, his daughter, Stina Kingma, his father, Wijtze Joe Kingma, and his niece and nephew, along with their children. Unfortunately, Jo was predeceased by his mother, Jannie Kingma de Bruin, and his sister, Grietje “Grace” Trijntje Kingma. In 1970, the Kingma family immigrated from the Netherlands to Canada. Jo attended James Fowler High School and continued his education at Mount Royal College. Through hard work and dedication, he achieved great success as a stockbroker before retiring to pursue ventures in the oil industry and various businesses.

One of Jo’s greatest passions was traveling. He embarked on unforgettable adventures on every continent, such as riding camels in Egypt, attending the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, and renting a sailboat in Hawaii. His fearless spirit led him to purchase a limousine in Nevada and drive it all the way to Calgary. He indulged in luxury by flying Emirates first class and conducted business in countries like Chile, Yemen, and Cambodia. Additionally, Jo enjoyed thrilling activities like driving ATVs and skiing in Canada and Austria with his cherished friends and extended family. Those who knew him will forever remember him as a vibrant, brilliant, and magnetic individual.

In memory of Jo, his family kindly requests that donations be made to the Calgary Women’s Shelter at [https://www.calgarywomensshelter.com](https://www.calgarywomensshelter.com). Messages of sympathy and support can be sent to the family through the website [www.fostersgardenchapel.ca](http://www.fostersgardenchapel.ca). Jo will be deeply missed but forever treasured in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
