John Anthony Grant

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 at the age of 83. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. He is survived by his devoted wife Evelyn Grant, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. He is also survived by his cherished children John (Sue) Grant and Sherry Grant. He was a beloved grandpa to Johnny (Katie) Grant, Shannon (Jason) Emery, and the late Krissie-Lynn Grant. He leaves behind loving great-grandchildren Emma and Zoey Emery, as well as Aubrey and Gavin Grant. John is predeceased by his loving parents Harold and Josephine Grant, and is survived by siblings Kathleen (late Chuck) Wall, Mary (Bob) Knight, Barb (late Sheldon) Wall, Loretta (Albert) Vriesacker, Ann (Hector) Barette, Pat (Mike) Zdunich, Gary (late Nancy) Grant, Harold (Peggy) Grant, and Walker (Loreen) Grant. He is also predeceased by his brother Joseph Grant.

John was passionate about many things, including hunting, watching The Detroit Red Wings as a season ticket holder, and being a huge fan of NASCAR, with Dale Earnhardt Sr. being his favorite driver. He and Evelyn loved to travel together, spending six months out of the year in Florida. John was a family-oriented man and spent 32 years employed with National Auto Radiator. He was also an avid union rep, serving as Plant Chairman for over 15 years.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Chevalier for providing exceptional care to John. They would also like to thank Roxanne, Heather, Marie, Ron, and Tom from St. Elizabeth for their unwavering support, as well as Amy and the staff from ParaMed for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Banwell Chapel on Thursday, November 9th, 2023 from 6-9pm, with continued visitation on Friday, November 10th at 10:30am until the time of the service at 12:30pm.
