John Bernard Harquail peacefully passed away on August 11, 2023, at the age of 87, with his loving family by his side at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Bernard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was survived by his wife, Barbara, and five children: Pamela, Laura, Colleen, Patrick, and David. Bernard will always be remembered for his kindness, love, and dedication to his family. He was the cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Bernard is predeceased by his sisters Pamela Harquail and Jean Ellen Guy, as well as his parents Paul and Laura Harquail.

In accordance with Bernard’s wishes, his body was cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, as Bernard was passionate about supporting cancer research and treatment.
