John COMRIE
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of John Comrie at University Hospital on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the age of 85. John is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jean, and their children William (Tina), Catherine (Fred), and Peter (Jen). He also leaves behind grandchildren Christie (Cam), Maja, Brycen, Nick (Kainah), Jordyn (Patrick), and Jacob, as well as great-grandchildren Leo, Miles, Delilah, and Violette. John was predeceased by his brother Tommy and sister Grace, and will be remembered fondly by his nieces and nephew.
John was born in Crieff, Scotland on May 10, 1939, and later moved to Alva, where he met Jean. The couple relocated to London, Ontario in 1974, where John worked as a painter until his retirement from UWO in 2002. In his free time, John enjoyed golfing with friends and listening to oldies music. He cherished moments spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories with them.
Visitation for John will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel in London on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. A private family funeral will follow on Friday, November 10, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Zion United Church, the Children’s Health Foundation, or a charity of choice in memory of John.
