John POSTEY

John Postey, aged 96, sadly passed away on September 28, 2023, at Royal University Hospital. He was born on January 12, 1927, in Rosthern, Saskatchewan, and grew up on the family farm nearby. John married Elizabeth in 1957 and they spent 49 wonderful years together in Saskatoon. Throughout his career, John worked at the Bessborough Hotel until his retirement at the age of 65. His primary enjoyment in life included spending summers camping with loved ones, cultivating his garden, playing kaiser games, bowling, bingo, and displaying his musical talent through playing the accordion. He will be greatly missed by surviving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the Sisters and staff at St. Joseph’s Home for their exceptional care over the past 12 years. A Divine Liturgy will take place on October 4, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of St. George, followed by the interment service at Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Home.
