John Raymond Coleman

John Raymond Coleman, age 82, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2023, at the Lynn Valley Care Centre in the presence of his loving wife Tricia and brother-in-law Donald Kydd. He was born on May 15, 1941, in North Vancouver, BC. John was preceded in death by his father John Anderson Coleman Jr. and his mother Betty Shakespeare. On June 16, 1978, John married Tricia, and they enjoyed a remarkable 45 years together. He will be deeply missed by his brother and sister-in-law Bill and Elaine Coleman, their 5 children (Corinne, Dianne, Bill Jr., Gordon, and Christopher), his brother-in-law Donald Kydd, as well as numerous cousins, lifelong friends, and clients.

John graduated from St. Georges School and went on to earn a law degree from UBC. He pursued a successful career as a lawyer. Living in West Vancouver brought immense joy to John’s life. He cherished his favorite activities which included swimming, hiking, skiing, and tennis. Alongside Tricia, he had countless happy moments spent with friends in Hawaii and Palm Desert. John’s dignity and willingness to serve earned admiration from numerous friends and clients who will dearly miss him.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. John Lebrun and all the staff at Lynn Valley Care Centre for their kindness and exceptional care during John’s residence. They would also like to thank the church members who took John for Sunday outings, pushing his wheelchair along the West Vancouver seawall. A private service will be held in the near future.
