Josef GOBET

Josef Gobet, a proud member of the Canadian Army and a loving husband to Ruby, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2023, at the age of 88. Born in Switzerland in 1935, Josef immigrated to Canada where he married Ruby in 1957. He was a dedicated foster parent in the Windsor area for over 40 years and was a proud recipient of the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship in June 1984.

In addition to his beloved wife, Josef is survived by his children Wanza, Peter, Meikel, Byron, and Wanette, as well as their spouses and children. He had a deep love for animals and the great outdoors and was known for his generous and caring nature. Josef was also a 32nd degree Mason and served twice as Grand Master in Windsor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family is grateful for the exceptional care provided by the staff at the Southampton Care Center over the past several years. Visitation is scheduled to take place at Windsor Chapel (South Chapel) on Thursday, November 9 at 10:00 -11:30 a.m., followed by a burial at Victoria Memorial Gardens.
