Josephine CUHAJDA

Josephine Cuahajda, an Edmonton native born in 1935, passed away in 2023 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She spent her early years in Revelstoke, BC, as her father served the railroad. Following his retirement, the family relocated to Edmonton, where Josephine remained in the family home until 2012. Throughout this period, Josephine worked as a dietary aid at the University of Alberta Hospital.

After her diagnosis, Josephine relocated to Villa Marguerite for ongoing care. In June of 2023, she was transferred to Villa Caritas Hospital, where she peacefully passed away on July 24. Her parents, John and Julia Cuhajda, predeceased her. Josephine is survived by her cousins, Marcella Cloran and Ray Kucharski.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Villa Marguerite for the years of devoted care provided to Josephine, as well as to the compassionate staff at Villa Caritas who attended to her in her final moments.
