Judith “Judy” Burke, 78, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 16, 2023. She was born in Edmonton, Alberta to Richard and Edna Ward and spent her entire life in Wabamun, Alberta. Judy tied the knot with Lawrence (Larry) Burke on September 5, 1964, and together they built their home in Rimbey, where they lovingly raised their two children, John and Cindy. Throughout her life, Judy engaged in various endeavors ranging from hairdressing to being the cheerful Avon lady who would go door-to-door. She dedicated her time as a leader for Brownies and Girl Guides and selflessly volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Rimbey. Judy had a deep passion for bowling, but her true love lay in sewing beautiful creations that were cherished by all. Her warm-heartedness and amiable nature will be profoundly missed by everyone who knew her. As per Judy’s wishes, no formal services will be conducted. However, those who wish to honor her memory can make donations to the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, Alberta.

Known for her excellent bowling skills, Judy truly found joy in Farmers Markets and showcased her incredible talent for sewing, beloved by all who saw her creations. Her kind and outgoing disposition will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. In accordance with Judy’s wishes, formal services will not take place. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, Alberta.

Moreover, Judy tirelessly volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Rimbey, spreading kindness and compassion wherever she went. Although she found delight in bowling, her true passion was showcased through her exquisite sewing, which garnered admiration from all corners. Judy’s generosity and warm nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she encountered. As per Judy’s request, formal services will be forgone.
