June HODDER

Georgina “June” Hodder (Andrews), a beloved resident of Dunwich Township, passed away at the age of 72 on October 30 at Four Counties Health Centre. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Bob Hodder. June was a devoted mother to Rob, Joe [Aimee], Lisa [Bryan], and a cherished grandmother to Kinley, Joaquim, Remy, Raven, Seth, Jed, Sam, and Farah. Her memory is also cherished by her sister-in-law Joan [Ken], Dianne [Herb], Sandra [Jim], Dick [Wendy], as well as several nieces and nephews. June was predeceased by her parents John and Georgia “June” Andrews, and her brother John. She had a profound love for her cats, enjoyed tending to her beautiful gardens, found solace in reading, and took pleasure in teaching as a schoolteacher for many years. Even in her final days, June found comfort in the presence of Bob, her cats, her rocking chair, and the love of her family. She was a dedicated member of the Dunwich United Church and made it a daily practice to read her Bible and record her daily activities in her journal. The Hodder family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Newbury Health Centre and Rev. Richard Golden for his kind words and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of June can be made to the Dunwich United Church or The West Elgin Daffodil Auxiliary – Cancer. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, with arrangements entrusted to Arn Funeral Home.

She also leaves behind her dear sister-in-law Joan [Ken], Dianne [Herb], Sandra [Jim], Dick [Wendy], and several nieces and nephews. June’s parents, John and Georgia “June” Andrews, and her brother John have preceded her in death. She found immense joy in caring for her cats and tending to her beautiful flower gardens. Reading was a passion that brought her great comfort, and she dedicated many years to being a school teacher. June’s love for her family and home kept her content and she was a faithful member of the Dunwich United Church. Each evening, she would read her daily Bible passage and meticulously record the day’s activities in her journal. The Hodder family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the caring staff at Newbury Health Centre and the words of support offered by Rev. Richard Golden.
