Kathleen BAERG

Kathleen “Katie” Elizabeth Baerg (née Pendle) passed away on August 21, 2023, at the age of 50. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Katie was married to Nicholas for 18 years and was a devoted mother to her children, Abby, Jack, and Molly. Born on May 31, 1973, she was the cherished daughter of Edward and Kathy Pendle, and the treasured sister of Shawn. Katie had a close relationship with her niece and nephew, Zachary and Kalan. She was preceded in death by her late husband Peter Baerg, as well as her grandparents, Walter and Bette Pendle, and Lawrence and Kathleen Lewin.

Katie’s greatest joy in life came from her role as a mother to her three children. She took immense pride in their achievements, particularly in Bluewater Cheer and Lambton Sting Hockey. Katie’s light always shone brightly when she saw her children grow into remarkable young adults. She had a natural talent for making friends and was known for her thoughtfulness. Katie was always planning special weekends, outings, and events for her loved ones, consistently putting others before herself. Throughout her life, she brought laughter and joy to everyone she met, leaving behind countless funny stories.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice for their amazing support and care during Katie’s time there. A special thank you is also extended to Kristine for her dedicated attention. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and support on Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, located at 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
