Kenneth Patrick McIntyre passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, October 29, at the age of 97. He was lovingly surrounded by his family during his final moments. Ken will forever be remembered and deeply missed by his devoted wife of 71 years, Mary Agnes. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories.

Ken leaves behind a lasting legacy through his four children – Christine (Michael), Stephen (Lori), Gregory (Karen), and Catherine. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Stephanie, Amanda, Ashley, Elyse, Kenny, Katie, and Mark. Additionally, he doted on his seven great grandchildren – Pearson, Isabel, Everett, Emma, Quinn, Sophia, and Fiona. Ken’s family was his pride and joy, and he shared his unconditional love with each and every one of them.

Though Ken faced the heartbreaking loss of his parents Bernard and Irene (Cody), as well as his son Jamie (1977) and daughter Mary Elizabeth who passed away shortly after birth in 1958, he was a resilient and positive individual. Following a successful 32-year career with IBM Canada, he retired in 1986 and settled in Belleville, Ontario. Ken had a deep appreciation for nature and spent countless hours tending to his gardens and biking through the neighborhood. He had an innate ability to connect with people, always ready to engage in conversation and show genuine interest in others’ lives. The impact he made on the countless lives he touched will be remembered forever.

Visitation to celebrate Ken’s life will be held at Burke Funeral Home on Thursday, November 2, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A funeral mass in his honor will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception. Interment will be held at St. James Cemetery in Belleville at a later date. Those who wish to pay their respects and honor Ken’s memory may consider making a donation to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, a cause close to his heart.
