Kenneth Pickford
Kenneth ‘Ken’ MacLean Pickford, a beloved member of the family, passed away at the age of 61 on October 25th, 2023 in Saint John, New Brunswick. His passing came after a sudden and unexpected illness, and he was surrounded by his loved ones during his final moments. Kenneth, born on February 21st, 1962 in Sydney Cape Breton, N.S., was known for his amiable nature and was fondly referred to as the “professor” during his school days. He married his high school sweetheart, Anne Shirley, and together they had four children. Throughout his life, Kenneth excelled as a salesman, interacting with a diverse range of people. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, working on cars, and sharing drinks with friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, demonstrating his kind-hearted nature. Ken leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Anne Shirley, their four children: Christina Joyce, Jennifer Anne (Alexander Serrano), Kassandra Jean (Luke Cater), and Edward Richard ‘Rick,’ as well as his two granddaughters Isabel and Lily Serrano. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings Terrance Pickford and Brenda Rodgers. Ken was preceded in death by his parents Edward ‘Ned’ and Annabelle (née Edwards), his brother Thomas Edward, his sister Christina Agnes, and his brother Spurgeon Pickford. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors and nurses of 4B North and the Palliative Care unit for their unparalleled compassion and care shown towards Ken during his illness.
