Larry BELL

Larry Bell, aged 87, passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, after a courageous battle with multiple illnesses. Born in Leamington, Ontario on March 27, 1936, Larry was the beloved son of the late James Arthur Bell and Hazel Irene Bell (nee Cowan). He was the cherished husband and best friend of Sylvia Bell (nee Prevett) and the loving father of Gregory Bell (Colleen), Janine Buckles (David), and Julie Veldboom (Richard). Larry will be deeply missed as the adored Grandpa to Christopher (Christina), Siobhan (John), Andrew, MacKenzie (Colin), Adam, and Evan (Bella). He was the proud big brother to Bonnie Jeffery (Ken) and the late Darryl Bell (Jean). In addition, Larry was a good friend and Mr. Fixit to stepchildren Deborah Pope-Ferguson, Michelle VanGorkum (nee Pope-Ferguson) (Richard), Robert Pope-Ferguson (Brenda), and Heather Ashton (Glen). He will also be dearly missed by his numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Throughout his life, Larry found joy in various activities. He was an avid boater and, following his retirement from the computer field, he delighted in playing his keyboard and entertaining seniors at nursing homes. Among his many talents, he was also a skilled artist, leaving behind beautiful artworks that adorn the walls of many homes. Larry had a passion for travel and enjoyed numerous trips to Florida and Myrtle Beach in his beloved Vintage Airstreams, which he and his wife lovingly restored as a retirement hobby. Above all, Larry will be remembered for his sense of humor, his ability to create joyful memories with friends, and, most importantly, his unwavering love for his family.

In accordance with his wishes, Larry was cremated. A Celebration of Life in his honor will be held at a later date. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Leamington will also take place at a later time.
