Lawrence Greenslade
Lawrence Patrick Greenslade, a resident of London, passed away peacefully at University Hospital on September 23, 2023, at the age of 94. After a life well-lived, Lawrence was reunited with his beloved family. He had been married to his soulmate, Sheila (Miller), for 62 years until her passing in April 2023. Lawrence was a loving father to his late sons David (2019) and John (2006). He was also a cherished grandpa to David and Patrick Bovingdon. Lawrence was the eldest brother of Kenneth and the late Shirley Rolls (2021), as well as Allan. He held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Clarence and May (Duncan).
The family will be hosting a visitation on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Riverside United Church in London, Ontario. Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Lawrence’s life at 11 a.m., officiated by Reverend Christina Paradela. Following a luncheon, Lawrence and Sheila will be laid to rest at Cooks Cemetery in Mount Brydges. Lawrence Patrick Greenslade, a long-time London resident, peacefully passed away at University Hospital on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the remarkable age of 94. He was joyfully reunited with his family in eternal rest. Lawrence was the adoring husband and soulmate of Sheila (Miller) for 62 years until her passing in April, 2023. He was also a loving father to the late David (2019) and John (2006). David and Patrick Bovingdon held a special place in Lawrence’s heart as his cherished grandsons. Among his siblings, Lawrence was the eldest, with Kenneth and Allan, and the late Shirley Rolls (2021) as brothers and sisters. Numerous nieces and nephews also knew him as their special uncle. Clarence and May (Duncan) were his parents, who preceded him in death.
A visitation will take place at Riverside United Church in London, Ontario, on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Family and friends are invited to express their condolences and share memories from 10 to 11 a.m. Following this time of remembrance, a Celebration of Lawrence’s life will commence at 11 a.m., with Reverend Christina Paradela officiating.
