Lawrence Haylk, a resident of Waterford, passed away at the age of 91 on Sunday, September 10, 2023. His loving wife of 69 years, Olga (Brazina), was by his side during his final moments. He is survived by his sons Larry (and Lidia) and Randy (and Judy), and will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Ben (and Meagan), James (and Kerri), Mike (and Gunnie), Meghan (and Davis), Alycia (and Brayden), as well as his great-granddaughter Nicola. Lawrence was preceded in death by his sister Rose Swiderovich and brothers Bill, Alex, Edward, Sid, Peter, Charles, and Irving. He will always be remembered as an avid angler, known amongst his fishing companions as the Admiral of Youges Creek. Additionally, he had a knack for finding lost golf balls, which showcased his passion and skill for the game. Family and friends will be gathering at Thompson-Mott Funeral Home in Waterford on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 6-8p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11a.m., officiated by Father Wasyl Makarenko. Lawrence will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery. To honor his memory, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
