Léo (Léopold) Arthur Beaudoin, a resident of Flour Mill/Sudbury, Ontario, passed away peacefully at HSN on October 13th, 2023, at the age of 82. It is with deep sadness that we announce his departure. He was born to Julien Joseph Beaudoin and Lebéa (Béa) Trottier and was the beloved husband of Linda Zanatta-Beaudoin. Léo was a loving father to Luc (Linda), Paulla (Nelson), and Joëlle (Jason), and leaves behind cherished memories for his grandchildren Carson, Jillian, Julia, and Beatrice.
Léo dedicated a significant portion of his life to his career. He initially worked as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for various companies and later became the Regional Director with St. John’s Ambulance. Additionally, he successfully managed rental properties on Cedar Street and proudly owned Moonlight Beach Confectionary for 15 years. In his retirement, Léo found joy in visiting his children and grandchildren in Ottawa and Toronto.
Fond of the outdoors, Léo enjoyed activities such as blueberry picking at the family camp on Lohi Lake and fishing adventures with his nephew, Mike, and cousin, Dennis, on the Onaping River. Woodworking was a natural talent of his, and he took pleasure in carpentry. He and his wife, along with close friends, frequently attended banquets at the Caruso Club. Léo’s presence will be greatly missed by his sisters Carmen (Normand) and Jeanne (Gilles), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Pioneer Manor (Killarney section) and the 4 South unit at HSN. They would also like to extend their thanks to Dr. Vokey and her assistant, Tanya, for their compassionate care. In accordance with Léo’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Instead, friends and family may gather at 10:30 a.m. before the 11 a.m. Funeral Mass on October 28th at St. Andrew the Apostle Church. Following the service, cremation will take place, and Léo’s ashes will be interred in the family plot at Civic Memorial Cemetery. A livestream of the service will be available at St. Andrew the Apostle.
