Leo & Geraldine Duquette

Leo Duquette, born on November 21, 1932, in St. Albert, Alberta, and Geraldine Duquette, born on October 11, 1938, in Leduc, Alberta, passed away on August 19, 2022, and August 1, 2023, respectively. Leo grew up in Saskatchewan and later moved to Alberta to work in the oil industry. Geraldine, on the other hand, spent her early years on a family farm in Leduc. The couple tied the knot on August 4, 1956, in Leduc.

Leo began his career working on oil rigs before transitioning to a tire shop in Leduc. With hard work and dedication, he pursued a career as a heavy-duty mechanic and found employment with Cantex Oil for several years. Geraldine, on the other hand, dedicated her life to her husband and children. She excelled as a homemaker, showcasing her skills in cooking, baking, and gardening.

One of the highlights of Leo and Geraldine’s life was their cabin at Garner Lake, where they spent countless joyous years. Family gatherings, games, and visits were a cherished part of their time there. Leo also enjoyed playing jigsaw puzzles and entertaining seniors by playing the guitar and singing. Geraldine found solace in reading, baking, and supporting Leo’s musical endeavors.

Leo and Geraldine leave behind their daughters, Shelley (Ken) Alackson and Kim (Duane) Bounds, as well as four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. They are also survived by Leo’s sister, Nellie, and Geraldine’s brother, Rod, as well as several nieces and nephews. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Rene and Marie-Reine, as well as four brothers and two sisters. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ida Kuhn, as well as three sisters and four brothers.
