Leonard Weiss

Leonard Albert Weiss, 82, passed away on August 13, 2023, leaving behind a void that will be deeply felt. Leonard, affectionately known as Len, was united in marriage to his beloved Dianne in 1961, and their bond endured until she departed in 2022. Together, they raised a daughter named Tammy (Terry) who gifted them with the joys of four remarkable grandchildren: Taylor, Madison, Jagger, and Montana. Len was particularly delighted to become a great-grandfather to Taylor and Mackenzie’s cherished Ozzy Mae, forging a special bond with her as they enjoyed precious moments and indulged in treats together.

Born in Edmonton to parents Albert and Aurore Weiss, Len was the eldest of eight siblings, namely Danny (deceased), Sandra, Karen, Judy, Patrick, Michael, and Susan. Throughout his life, Len wore his pride for the Calgary Stampeder and Flames teams on his sleeve, embodying the spirit of a loyal fan. He possessed an adventurous soul, finding solace and contentment in his travels, embracing the serenity of lakeside living, and immersing himself in the joy of fishing. Len also found solace in the pages of western novels and the melody of music. However, it is his kind heart, razor-sharp wit, and infectious sense of humor that will forever be etched in the memories of those who knew him. Len’s unwavering devotion to his family was truly inspiring and left an indelible mark on their lives.

A celebration of Len’s remarkable life will be held at a later date, allowing his loved ones and friends the opportunity to gather in honoring his memory and bidding him a fond farewell. As we mourn his loss, let us hold tight to the joy he brought into our lives and cherish the wisdom and love he bestowed upon us. Leonard Albert Weiss, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, sibling, and friend, may you rest in eternal peace.
