Leslie Robertson

Leslie Douglas Robertson, aged 96, passed away on September 3, 2023, at Kennebec Manor. Born in Ripples, NB, he was the beloved son of the late Leslie and Dorothy (Edwards) Robertson.

During his four-year tenure as the mayor of Cambridge Narrows from 1984-1988, Leslie showcased his exceptional versatility and passion for various skills. He exemplified the role of a true jack of all trades and had a profound love for hunting. Recognized for his exceptional dedication to community involvement, Leslie held board positions in numerous organizations throughout his life. He served as a machinist for Red Rose Tea, a Molder for McAvity & Sons, an Engineer for central heating at Camp Gagetown, and concluded his career as the esteemed Mechanical Superintendent at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Leslie is fondly remembered by his stepchildren Barbara Lamb (Tim), Elizabeth Shepherd (Robert), Cheryl Green (Rob), and Lloyd Charlton (Kathleen). He is also survived by his brother Ralph (Lois), sister Rose Goldsmith (Bill), four step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his first wife Catherine (Fanjoy) Robertson, second wife Arlene (Kierstead) Robertson, brother Carl Robertson, and infant sister Verna Robertson.

Arrangements for commemorating Leslie’s life have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, located at 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, between 1:00 – 2:00 PM, with a funeral service following directly after.

In honor of Leslie’s memory, those inclined may choose to make donations to organizations such as Diabetes Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or Kennebec Manor.
