Linda BRUSH

Linda Jane Brush (née Marshall) peacefully passed away at the age of 82 on Monday, August 21, 2023, at University Hospital. She was born in Windsor, Ontario, the youngest of six children to David and Charlotte Marshall. Linda was preceded in death by her beloved siblings: Charlotte LaFatta, Norman Marshall, David Marshall, Evelyn Ebbinghaus, and Norma Iles. Sadly, Linda was also predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Lynn Leighton Brush, in 2020, a loss she deeply felt over the past three years.

Linda was a devoted mother to her children Laird and Lise Brush, Susan Brush and Dan Bourque, and Eric and Pamela Brush. She was a cherished grandmother to Taylor and Kevin Strybosch, Sara Brush, Jake Brush (Chelsea Dean), Lexi Sherriff and Derek Coleman, Maegan and Adam Bryan, and Avery Brush. Linda took immense joy in her role as a great-grandmother to Gwenyth and Luna Bryan, Benjamin and James Coleman. Throughout her 42 years in London, Linda loved having her family around her and treasured their presence. She enjoyed taking walks on the beach in Myrtle, engaging in lively games of Euchre with plenty of good-natured teasing, delving into a good book or challenging puzzle, and indulging in her undeniable love for chocolate.

In addition to her immediate family, Linda will also be deeply missed by her extended family, The Brush-Brats – Gary and Donna Brush, Camilla and Lorne MacKinnon, and Catherine Gniposky. She leaves behind cherished memories with her lifelong friends aptly nicknamed The Dinosaur Club, as well as her neighbors, work colleagues, and acquaintances. Her legacy lies in her incredible sense of humor, her warmth and generosity, and her loving guidance. The paramedics and emergency room staff at University Hospital are greatly appreciated for their exceptional care during Linda’s final moments.

Visitation to pay respects will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Northview Funeral Chapel located at 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London. A memorial service will be conducted at Woodland Cemetery, 493 Springbank Drive, London, on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Donations in Linda’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Westover Treatment Centre.
