Linda JANSSEN

Linda Alice Janssen, a beloved member of the Woodstock community, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2023. Linda was born on December 25, 1944, in Woodstock and was cherished by her hometown for almost 80 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo, and their cherished daughter, Wendy. Linda is survived by her brother, Frank, and his wife Sharon, as well as her sisters-in-law Antoinette, married to Case, and Willy, wife of Dave. Her close friends Roy and Charlene also survive her. Linda’s love extended far beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Throughout her life, Linda had a deep passion for adventure and the great outdoors. She was an avid traveler who enjoyed exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. Her travels created a rich tapestry of memories that not only enriched her own life but also left a lasting impact on those around her. One of her favorite places to spend winters was Myrtle Beach, where she could bask in the warmth of the sun and be lulled by the gentle ocean waves. Linda also found joy in playing golf, becoming a seasoned golfer who dedicated herself to perfecting her swing. She formed strong bonds of camaraderie with her fellow golfers and her calm demeanor and stoic nature were a source of comfort to those who knew her both on and off the golf course.

The passing of Linda leaves a significant void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the fulfilling life she led and the profound impact she had on others. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel at 12 p.m. Linda will be laid to rest alongside her husband Leo at the Anglican Cemetery. In honor of Linda’s memory, those who wish to make a contribution can donate to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
