Lois Grace Busko



Lois Grace Busko, a beloved mother, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023, at the age of 83. Surrounded by her loving family, she bid farewell after a life well-lived. Lois was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Peter, who had been by her side for 56 years until his passing in 2019. She is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl (Doug) Lipp of Dilke, SK and Carla (Trevor) Crozier of Regina, SK. Cherishing her memory, Lois leaves behind her grandchildren Clayton, Leah (Josh) Morgan, Tanner, and Hallie. In addition, she will be fondly remembered by her siblings, Carol Domshy, Neil (Audrey) East, and Lyle (Paulette) East; her brother-in-law Walter Busko; sister-in-law Mary (Alex) Sowtis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Born in Eastend, SK in 1940, Lois moved to Regina in 1959. Her life revolved around her daughters and their families. Lois actively participated in Girl Guides and dedicated herself to being her children’s chauffeur for school and sporting events. In the kitchen, her favorite place, she delighted in cooking and baking for loved ones. Having her grandchildren lend a hand brought her immense joy. Her pride in her family knew no bounds, with her greatest happiness being the light her grandchildren brought into her life. Lois wholeheartedly supported them, attending all their activities and cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. Whether it was a baseball game, volleyball match, Christmas concert, dance recital, hockey match, or golf tournament, Lois and her husband were always present, extending their support to all the children dear to her heart.

Lois had recently moved to Greenfalls Landing, where she quickly formed new friendships with both residents and staff. She relished in the activities and outings offered, taking pride in showcasing her new suite. Known for her warm hugs, Lois welcomed everyone into her home with open arms, leaving an indelible mark on those she encountered. Her generosity extended beyond her time, as she dedicated countless hours to Girl Guides, Westminster United Church, and her community. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses and doctors of Unit 5F at the General Hospital for their care during Lois’ final days.

A service to celebrate Lois’ life will be held on August 16, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Westminster United Church in Regina, SK.
