Lois LOWDON

On August 16, 2023, Lois Joan Lowdon (nee Maloney), our beloved Mom, Grandma, and Sister, peacefully passed away at the age of 90, surrounded by her family. She was a caring and cherished woman who will be deeply mourned and fondly remembered. Lois is survived by her children Gaylene McGillicky, Christie and Luiz Sousa, Cory and Kristy McGillicky, Jodi and Carey Beitel, Jaye and Margaret Lowdon, Jim and Sherrie Lowdon, Lori Lowdon and David, the Ken Lowdon family, Lynda and Steve Dunnet, Kathy and Kevin Butler, Dale and Barb Lowdon, Laurie and Lesley, and their families. She is also survived by her sister Eunice Donald and brother Joe Maloney, along with their respective families, as well as her nephews and nieces from both the Maloney and Lowdon sides. Lois was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Viola Maloney, her husband Robert Lowdon, second husband Ken Lowdon, son Terry Lowdon, and son-in-law Guy McGillicky. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Vera and Jim Dickson, brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Cecile Maloney, sister-in-law Paulette Maloney, brother-in-law Laurie Donald, sister-in-law Donna Maloney, and nephews Kevin Maloney and Shane Dickson. We would like to express our gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Lions Prairie Manor for their exceptional care, as well as to Frank Penner for his devoted companionship. A service honoring Lois’s life was held at Omega Funeral Home on August 25, 2023, followed by her interment at Oakville Cemetery’s family plot. Her sister Eunice Donald and brother Joe Maloney, along with their families, also survive her. Lois had a close relationship with her special friend Frank Penner and sister-in-law Mary Lowdon.
