Lutz Werner Naumann passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Eden House Care Home, Guelph, Ontario. He is survived by his wife Wilhelmine (Wilma) Naumann and their children Roy (Anne), Andre (Tina), Curt (Terryn), Heidi (Phil) and Dean (Rose) and grandchildren Reese, Blake, Keith, Brent, Kylei, Caili, Seth and Brie, as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Lutz was born at the Naumann homestead “Christiansburg”, Germany on Sept 27, 1929. War led to the family moving west to Warzenbach, Germany where he completed his apprenticeship and attained qualification as a Master Cabinetmaker.

He immigrated to Canada and worked as a carpenter, settling in Kenora, Ontario in 1960 with his pen-pal, then wife, Wilma from Rotenburg, Germany. Together they built a house and raised a family of five children. Many good times were had at the summer cottage on Lake of the Woods. During retirement he spent much leisure time woodworking in the basement shop or out at his small lake cabin.

In keeping with Lutz’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, and if friends so desire, donations may be made in his name to a charity of one’s choice.
