Margaret Kitchenham

Margaret Eleanor Kitchenham, formerly Margaret Eleanor Carless, peacefully passed away at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Don and their son Scott. However, she is survived by her loving and caring son Bob, as well as his wife Sharen. Margaret was a proud grandmother to Lindsey and Carley. Throughout her life, Margaret pursued her passion for nursing, completing three years of training that included valuable experience at prestigious institutions such as Sick Kids in Toronto, St. Thomas Psych, and the Tuberculosis Sanatorium. In 1958, Margaret graduated as a registered nurse (R.N.) and formed lifelong friendships through her training and subsequent yearly class reunions.

After obtaining her nursing degree, Margaret dedicated 35 years of her career as a pediatric nurse at STEGH. This role brought her great fulfillment, as she had a natural talent and compassion for caring for young patients. Margaret also enjoyed extracurricular activities that enriched her life. She started her days with an early round of golf at the Belmont Golf Club, a hobby she cherished. Additionally, she spent over 50 years actively participating in curling at The St. Thomas Curling Club, further fostering her love for sports and socializing.

Margaret was known for her vibrant sense of humor and her adventurous spirit. She embraced every opportunity to dance, travel, and even try her luck at gambling in Las Vegas. Throughout her life, Margaret truly lived well and made the most of every experience. Her memory will be treasured by her family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the caring professionals at Williams Funeral Home, located at 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas.
