Margaret PARKER

Margaret “Pat” Parker passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Leamington Mennonite Home at the remarkable age of 95. Pat will forever be cherished as a beloved aunt by Leslie Walton, Leslie’s sons Thomas and Franklin Walton, as well as Nancy (Wayne) Chevalier and William (Tina) Berry and their entire family. She held a special place in her heart for her goddaughter Cathy (Brian Blaxall) Mendler. Pat leaves behind her cousins Shirley (the late Charles) Paul, Betty-Ann Brooks, and Deryl (Rhonda) Dawdy and their families, along with niece Janet Hanley, nephew Bruce Parker, and their loved ones. Pat was the stepmother of Gary (Sandra) Parker and their son Chad, as well as the late Wayne (Cindy) Parker and their children Mark and Melissa. Pat was preceded in death by her husbands Lawrence Brown (1980) and Harold Parker (1990), her parents William and Gladys Gardner, and her brother Franklin “Bud” Gardner. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to The Leamington Mennonite Home for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Pat. Pat was a dedicated Board Member at Thompson Gardens and devoted many years as a volunteer at Bluewater Health. She had an immense love for music, attending concerts, theater performances, and playing the organ. Pat and her late husbands Larry and Harold enjoyed golfing together and cherished their trips to West Palm Beach, Florida. She delighted in bus trips to Huron Country Playhouse, St. Jacob’s, and the Petrolia Playhouse. Pat never missed an opportunity to celebrate her loved ones’ birthdays, always armed with a card and warm wishes. Her many dear friends will deeply miss her. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m., with a graveside service at Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery, 190 Wilson Ave, St. Thomas, ON.
