Margaret PESCOTT

Margaret Esther Pescott, formerly known as Margaret Esther McCarten, peacefully concluded her remarkable journey with us on July 7, 2023, at the age of 100. Born on November 15, 1922, in Brighton, New York, she was the cherished daughter of John and Agnes McCarten. During her childhood, Margaret’s family relocated to Bow Island, Alberta, where they cultivated her father’s homestead. Reflecting on her early years, she often fondly recalled the joyous moments and lasting friendships she experienced.

In 1945, Margaret married Morse Pescott, and together they embarked on a new chapter of their lives in Vancouver, later settling in Hazelmere and Surrey. Eventually, they made their home in Langley, where they spent their later years. Tragically, Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved parents, husband Morse, her brothers Jack (Betty) and Bud (Flo), as well as her daughter-in-law Karen and son-in-law Barry. Left to honor Margaret’s memory are her son James (Susan), daughters Margaret (Gary) and Eileen, her grandchildren Ashley (Michelle), Christopher (Janice), Jodi (Rob), Brent (Kathryn), Todd, Trevor (Jennifer), Laura (Keeley), and her great-grandchildren Jason (Cheyenne), Ryan (Jessica), Joshua, Jake, Kenneth, Marcus, Caelynn, Weston, Jack, Ryker, and Mikaela.

Throughout her lengthy existence, Margaret wholeheartedly embraced life’s joys and relished in the company of her loved ones. Family gatherings held a special place in her heart, and she consistently emanated a vibrant spirit. Even during her final weeks, Margaret maintained an unwavering interest in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, thoroughly cherishing the moments spent with them. In memory of Margaret, her family kindly requests that instead of sending flowers, individuals take the opportunity to connect with and visit a senior in their own lives, as she truly valued the warmth and connection she experienced through visits and phone calls from dear friends.

A service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held on August 12, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Southridge Fellowship Church located at 22756 48 Ave in Langley. Margaret’s remarkable journey may have come to an end, but her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind.
